The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Japanese Dragonflies (2-1) on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Iranian Gorgan (2-1) 94-81. Gorgan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American guard Joseph Young (188-1992, college: Oregon) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists. point guard Sina Vahedi (185-2001, agency: Diamond Sports) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Gorgan's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 29 points and 8 rebounds for Hiroshima D.
Another exciting game for Chinese Liaoning (1-1) which played on the court of Malaysian NS Matrix (0-2). Liaoning saved the game by a tiny margin of one point 94-93. NS Matrix was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was a great evening for American guard Rayvonte Rice (193-1992, college: Illinois) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 4 assists. Minchen Chong helped adding 16 points. The best for the losing side was American guard John Murry (194-1995, college: Austin Peay) with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. NS Matrix's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Liaoning will play against Shabab Al Ahli (#3) in Dubai in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NS Matrix will play at home against Al Riyadi and hopes to get finally their first victory.
